Spell: Festival of Diana

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Around this time of year, the ancient Romans celebrated the feast of Diana. Diana is a lunar goddess as well as a goddess of the hunt. Her feast was used in part to ask for her help with the harvest, and it marked a day of rest for women and slaves. The festival was also called the Festival of Torches.

While the holiday itself has already passed, this is a good time to invoke the goddess, perhaps by lighting a candle in her honor in a firesafe container. You can ask for her help with your own harvest, or use this time to take an hour or two of much-earned rest for yourself. Light the candle and say:

Diana, I call your name
And light this torch in your honor.
May your blessings shine upon my life
As this light shines out into the night.

Snuff out the candle when you’re done.
