Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Honeysuckle Around this time of year, the ancient Romans celebrated the feast of Diana. Diana is a lunar goddess as well as a goddess of the hunt. Her feast was used in part to ask for her help with the harvest, and it marked a day of rest for women and slaves. The festival was also called the Festival of Torches. While the holiday itself has already passed, this is a good time to invoke the goddess, perhaps by lighting a candle in her honor in a firesafe container. You can ask for her help with your own harvest, or use this time to take an hour or two of much-earned rest for yourself. Light the candle and say: Diana, I call your name Snuff out the candle when you’re done. |
