Following a devastating brain injury, Hal Elrod created the acronym SAVERS to remember the practices he undertakes each morning that "save" the day.
S stands for silence. Get quiet in the morning: pray, meditate, breathe. Start the day in a calm state of mind. A is for affirmations, the positive statements that encourage you toward better behavior, happy thoughts, and healthy outcomes. V means visualization. Envision yourself doing a complex task, step by step, with a successful outcome. Focus on what success feels like. E is for exercise. Just fifteen minutes of bodyweight exercise gets the blood flowing to the brain. R stands for reading uplifting, inspirational material. S is for scribing-writing down what is going on inside of you. Journaling is a great way to be in touch with your deepest desires and keep track of your progress. Try these SAVERS to magically change your day. |
