Yes, of course we stand before our altars and invoke and work with the pantheons of classical Greece or Rome, India, or Northern Europe. But where do we do our real day-today work? On our devices. Who has a landline these days? How often do we sit down at our desktop computers? Who these days knows what a typewriter is? Who sends anything via snail mail?
But, alas, our devices occasionally fail us. Just like us, they need regular "meals"; that is, they need to be regularly recharged. Here's an invocation to draw down and pull in the power: "Chargers, chargers, in your sockets, Make my 'tronics run like rockets. PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet, Power every app and applet." |
