The bright days of summer are some of the best times to commune with the fairies. Remember that they are elemental creatures, not the cute little winged folk they are sometimes portrayed as, and always treat them with respect. If you wish to speak with the fairies, it is best to bring them a small offering or gift, such as a flower, a tiny cupcake, a small bowl of mead or milk, or anything shiny. Find a quiet space outside-a park will do if you don't have a yard-and put your gift down under a bush or tree. Sit silently, and when you feel as though you might not be alone, say:
"I greet you, my fairy cousins, And give you greetings and a gift. I ask for your blessing Under the summer sun." |
