Spell: A November Fire Scrying Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

There was a time when fire scrying in a fireplace was a popular fall and winter activity for families as they sat in their parlors in the evening. This spell takes us back to those times. To go about fire scrying, just follow the suggestions in the verse below. You may also use your cauldron or a small heatproof container. In whatever container you choose, start your fire carefully and never leave it unattended.

To read your fate in the November
fire as it crackles and blazes,
Look into the fire and upon
the flames set your gaze.
Feed the fire with the holy
herbs of basil and thyme.
In the smoke and fire you'll
see a message or a sign.
Perhaps you'll see a face, a
number, or a name.
A sign of your destiny will
arise from the flames.

And when the November fire
dwindles to one ember,
Thank the sacred flame for a prophecy
you shall always remember.

Let the fire cool for at least three days. Check to be sure the ashes are completely cool before you dispose of them. You may also wish to keep some of the ashes in a small container as a keepsake. If you don't have any luck with your fire scrying, wait for seven days and try again.
