Sometimes life and love can really shake our confidence. We know we’re awesome. If only the people around us would figure that out!

For this spell, take a dark blue candle and use a small blade or wooden pick to inscribe it with symbols and words describing all the things you like about yourself. Enhance these markings with silver ink to make these qualities shine! Then take small pieces of paper and write “labels” of all the things specific people—or our culture in general—have said about you that you know aren’t true. Place these labels all around the candle on your altar.

Finally, place a fire-proof dish on your altar and focus deeply on your strengths. Light the candle. Take each label in turn and read it aloud and laugh at the absurdity of it. With passion, state:

I reject this label!

Then carefully touch the label to the candle’s flame. Set it in the fireproof dish and watch it burn, knowing that this untruth no longer applies to you. Repeat with all the other labels, and then, as the candle burns down, focus on how wonderful you know yourself to be.
