What could be better for your magickal journal or Book of Shadows than writing with your own handmade ink? You'll need four to five nails, some soapy water, a small bowl, a small amount of white vinegar, four black tea bags, white glue, and an airtight glass bottle.
Soak the nails in soapy water for about half an hour. Rinse and dry. Now soak the nails in a small bowl with enough white vinegar to cover, leaving them for two days. After two days, discard the nails. Boil four black tea bags in one cup water for ten minutes. Cool. Mix equal parts tea water and nail water. Add white glue, drop by drop, until the ink's consistency is correct. Say: "Double double, toil and trouble, Ink take shape and cauldron bubble." The ink may look pale but will dry black. Store in the glass bottle. Try out your new ink, experimenting with different papers and maybe even with magickal alphabets, and perhaps reserving the ink for your most sacred writings. |
