Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, king of the Roman gods, the Norse Thor, and the Greek Zeus. Along with Juno and Minerva, Jupiter was one of the great protectors of the Roman state until it adopted Christianity. In astrology, Jupiter gives us growth, plenty, and good fortune. Thursday is a day to give thanks for the good in your life.
Spend several minutes with paper and pen and make a list of ten good things in your life. Add ten more things. Then lay your list on your altar and say: "Father Jupiter, bringer of good fortune, I thank you for all the good in my life." Read your list aloud. Read slowly and take time to consider each item on the list. Say: "Great Jupiter, be with me and bless me as long as I live." Burn your list in a fireproof container (such as a small cauldron) and keep the ashes in the cauldron just inside your door. |
