Spell: Bless the Herbs

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Garden herbs aren't just for flavoring foods. Herbs are sacred plants that contain magical and healing properties. So at this time of year, as you harvest your herbs to dry for winter use, do so with magical intent. Herbs are sensitive to our personal energy. This blessing ritual will charge your herbs with extra power for magical or culinary purposes. Say the blessing:

Now the wild geese are flying,
And the grasses of the fields are dying.
But before my garden turns to rust,
And before the flowers fall to dust,
Thank you, Divine Power, for these sacred herbs.
As I bless them with my words-
Noble plants that heal me,
Noble plants that feed me,
Noble plants that work magic for me-
I honor you. Blessed be!"

After the herbs dry, scatter a few in your garden as an offering.
