It's Tartan Day, a day to celebrate Scottish heritage. Here's a little heritage to celebrate: Scotland's national animal is the unicorn. Unicorns are associated with purity, protection, beauty, elegance, subtlety, magic, intuition, shapeshifting, and connection with the Otherworld.
Today, build a unicorn altar, with the intention to align with one or more of these qualities. Keep it simple or get elaborate. You might paint, draw, print out, or find a unicorn image, and then add symbols as desired. For example, you could choose a feather for subtlety and/or intuition, and a white quartz or lepidolite for protection and/or purity. Light a white candle and diffuse a light floral scent (via oil or incense) such as lavender or lilac. Envision a wise and beautiful unicorn as a wordless invocation, and inwardly align yourself with his or her vast power and wisdom. |
