Spell: Celtic Love Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

There are many love spells and charms in the Celtic folk tradition. Here is a particularly magical spell from Scotland, which requires the use of many difficult-to-obtain items:

It is not knowledge of love
To draw water through a
reed,
But the love of the one you
choose
And their warmth you draw
to you.

Arise early on the day of the
Sun
And go to the flat, broad
stone.
Take with you foxglove
And the blossom of
butterbur.

Lift these on your shoulder
In a wooden shovel
Obtain nine stems of ferns
Cut with an axe

Take three bones of an old
man
That have been taken from
the grave.
Burn them on a fire of wood
And make them into ashes

Shake this in front of the
breast of your intended
While standing in the sharp
north wind
And I pledge and warrant
That she (he) will never leave
you.
