He carries a lantern and he's looking carefully before he takes a step. But he can make his own decisions, for he is the Wise One. Thinking of your question, simply say, "Light my way." Meditate and pay attention to the candle flame. If the flame burns steadily during the ritual, follow your first instinct. If the flame sparks or goes out, don't make your decision at this time.
