Incense of the day: Sage This All Saints' Day ritual will allow you to contact a departed ancestor. Upon your altar spread a plain black cloth and set a magic mirror. Behind the mirror light three candles-one white, one yellow, and one silver. Begin by saying, "Let me see a face from the past, as I gaze into this looking glass." Softly call the name of the person you are looking for. You may see or feel a presence. Ask questions if you wish. If the contact should fade or you want to end it, purify the mirror by anointing your finger with salt water, then making the shape of a pentagram before the mirror. Thank the spirit and, taking your white candle, lead the spirit's presence into your kitchen where you've set a bit of their favorite food. Bid them farewell by saying, "In peace you came, in peace be gone. So mote it be." Snuff out the candles. |
