| In addition to revealing complex patterns behind major events, tarot cards offer a way of examining the minute details of day-to-day life. For the latter purpose, you select a card for the day; most books recommend simply shuffling and then drawing one at random. Instead, try this: Cut the deck three times, reciting this charm as you do so: "Goddess of fortune, come what may-show me now the face of this day." Then shuffle the cards until one falls out of the deck, and use that as your card for the day. Look up its interpretation, which highlights the potential opportunities and challenges you will face. Pip (number) cards indicate minor or routine events, court (face) cards indicate important personal interactions, and trump (major arcana) cards indicate significant or unusual events. Keep a record of each day's card and events so you can track your accuracy. |
