Incense of the day: Vanilla Before Mars was a god of war, he was a god of agriculture and protection. March is his month and an ideal time to call upon his powers of protection. In a small dish combine any three of the following: cinnamon, ginger, allspice, the thorns of a hawthorn, or the root of bloodroot. Concentrate on protection and free will as you blend your spell ingredients. If possible, perform this ritual outdoors, and if it's windy that's even better. In a private place, face south, letting the wind cleanse any negativity you may be feeling. Breathe deeply and begin turning clockwise. As you do so, sprinkle your protection powder. Stop when you return to your south-facing direction. Even if it's cloudy, visualize the Sun burning through. Imagine you're accomplishing all your goals. If it's windy, end this ritual by pretending you can hear the howling of a wolf; wolves are one of Mars' power animals. Walk away feeling empowered. You can reach any goal you aim for. |
