Color of the day: Crimson
Incense of the day: Mulberry One reason quitting smoking is so hard is that we don't complete our relationship with cigarettes. We may hate to admit it, but most smokers love smoking and are comforted by lighting up. In order to successfully and permanently quit, it's important to acknowledge and release these feelings. Make an altar to your smoking habit. Have cigarettes, your favorite ashtray, matches or lighter, etc. Invoke the gods to witness. Speak freely to your cigarettes. Personify them. Say something like, "Whenever I've been afraid, you've been there for me. Smoking you has calmed me in those moments." Just let it all out. Now speak about letting go. "I'm saying goodbye to you now. It's time to move on." Speak words that are meaningful and as honest as you can make them. End with something like, "I no longer smoke." Say, "So mote it be." |
