Color of the day: Topaz
Incense of the day: Musk In early September, our lives become rushed while the colors of fall begin to make their very brief appearance. If we are not careful, we will miss them. To slow down and notice them, create a small ritual. In a saucepan, simmer together one quart apple cider or juice (sacred connection to the Goddess) with two cinnamon sticks (spiritual connection) and eight cloves (love and purity), three-quarters of a cup of lemon juice (for friendship with nature), and one cup firmly packed brown sugar (for sweetness). After 20 minutes, pour yourself a generous portion and go outside and watch the leaves. Sip slowly and savor each smell and taste. Yellow leaves remind us of joy, creativity, and communication with others. Orange reminds us of the sensuality all around us, and golden leaves remind us of prosperity and our connection with the dying of the Earth. Green leaves remind us of the promise of renewal and things yet to come. |
