Spell: Cabin Fever Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: White
Incense of the day: Sandalwood

Winter drives our thoughts inward as the harsh weather makes it inconvenient or impossible to travel or work outside. Introspection has its place, but after a while cabin fever starts to set in. At this time of year, it's good to get together with a few friends. Throughout history, Europeans and Americans have held "salons"-social gatherings that center around discussing a particular topic. The Inuit have "potlatches" where people share food and gifts. In Ireland, women celebrate February 1 as Wives' Day. They hold lavish cele-brations of their skills as homemakers by cooking beautiful feasts for each other. So pick a topic important to you-maybe something magical or spiritual. Write out invitations on elegant cards and gather some friends for an evening of intelligent conversation. Devote a day to cooking those extraordinary recipes that taste oh-so-good but take hours to make. You deserve it!
