Color of the day: Gray
Incense of the day: Musk For the ancient Romans, today was Tubilustrium-one of two days when ceremonial trumpets were purified and sanctified. Whether you work with a drum, bell, harp, or tuba, this is a wonderful time to bless and reconsecrate your ritual instruments. Light a cedar and sage smudge or some incense. Holding the instrument in the smoke, ask that the smoke of the sacred plants purify this instrument and release any lingering unwanted energies. Then sit with the instrument for a few moments. Thank it for being your partner in ritual and for the blessings it has brought your work. Ask if it holds any messages for you at this time. When ready, sprinkle a very small amount of cornmeal on the instrument. Hold it up and dedicate it to your path. Ask that your gods and goddesses bless and consecrate this instrument for the highest good of all. Then play it freely and joyfully. |
