Color of the day: Green
Incense of the day: Geranium World Health Day is the perfect time to reflect on Osain, angelic spirit of herbs and healing of the Yoruba practitioners of Ifa. Osain kept his healing medicines high up in a tree in a calabash. The other spirits got jealous and angrily brought the calabash of herbs down to earth. Osain's story teaches us to share healing energy, be it through some herbal tea, a heartfelt hug, a generous smile, a thank-you card, or just a phone call. Today is simply the day to contribute to the well-being of others. Peppermint is well suited to World Health Day. It eases nervousness, insomnia, headache, stomachache and vomiting, and symptoms of colds. Peppermint is a good additive to baths, herbal sachets, salves, and it is considered an aphrodisiac. Put one-half pound dried peppermint in a bag. Tie the bag with a turquoise ribbon, and place it inside a dried calabash, gourd, or simple wooden salad bowl. Share the story, and share good health. |
