Incense of the day: Evergreen Today is Epiphany, or the Twelfth Night of Christmas. This holiday is considered to be a night of great power and is honored worldwide. In Greece, the homeland of my grandparents, it was believed this was the night wishes could come true. Many cultures hold celebrations and feasts on this night. Gather family and friends at your home. For dessert serve rich cakes, pastries, and plenty of chocolate. Top off the meal with coffee and a new bottle of sweet white wine. Then have your guests write one wish on a small piece of white paper. Ask them to wish for something they would like to see occur in the coming year. Place all the wishes in a roaring fire, and let each person visualize their wish merging with the rising smoke and being answered by the divine. |
