Spell: New Life for Hand-Me-Downs

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Physical objects retain the energy of those who created or used them. When bringing any piece of furniture into your home, it is always wise to cleanse it. Family furniture passed down through the generations may be infused with considerable and varied forces. When bringing in items from relatives we know and love, the cleansing may be less stringent. A simple request and a “blessed be” might suffice, or only a light saging may be needed. One way to be sure the positive essence remains and impart your own energy is by refinishing or refurbishing the piece. Many items will most certainly benefit from a sprucing up. When you are done, offer up this heartfelt spell:

This (name of item) has served
the family well. I’ll give this
piece a newer face and keep it
with care in a special place.
