People usually think of Valentine’s Day as a holiday of lust and romance, but love is so much more than those things. There are many more kinds of love, platonic as well as carnal. Today is a good time to celebrate them as well. You will need a piece of parchment paper, a pen, ink, and a ribbon. Use Dove’s Blood magical ink if you have it. Otherwise, use ordinary ink in a color you associate with love. On one side of the paper, write down all the kinds of love you can think of: love of parent for child, love of child for parent, love between siblings, love between friends, and so on. On the other side of the paper, write the names of the people you love and who love you. If you don’t want to use names, descriptions or roles work fine. Then roll up the paper and tie it with the ribbon. Carry it with you or keep it on your altar as a concrete symbol of love. |
