Spell: La Virgen de Guadalupe

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

It's Mother's Day in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Mexico. This, coupled with the fact that the moon is in maternal, nurturing Cancer, makes it a good day to call on and align with one of the most beloved mother goddesses of our time: la Virgen de Guadalupe. Certainly, most Catholics would dispute her status as a goddess, but the worshipful devotion she inspires-as well as the fact that her first temple was built on the same site as the temple of the Aztec mother/earth goddess Tonantzin-would cause us to suspect otherwise.
Today, find a jar candle with la Virgen de Guadalupe's image on it, or simply make one yourself by attaching her image onto a jar candle. Light the candle and invoke the goddess, expressing your love and requesting support with maternal intentions such as comfort, nourishment, and support. Optionally, offer her a white rose.
