Spell: Understanding Scrooge

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

It's useful to learn, as Ebenezer Scrooge did, that spreading loving-kindness throughout the world is better than being mean and miserly.
Early December is a good time to reread Dickens' A Christmas Carol and watch the three ghosts administering psychotherapy and tough love to old Scrooge. There's no way the book expresses Pagan ideas, but if we read closely we can see that its muscular Victorian Christianity foreshadows our Pagan belief in spriritual awakening. Scrooge gets a major attitude adjustment and turns into a good man who cares about the welfare of other people.
So...how did you come to your spiritual awakening? Did you have tough teachers like Scrooge's? Have you risen from misery and selfishness? How do you compare now with the good old man that is Scrooge at the end of the story? How can you become as kind and generous as he did?
