Spell: One-Minute Meditation

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

The word meditate comes from Latin roots meaning "to measure," and being successful with meditation means making regular (measured) time for it in one's daily schedule. But alas, in today's hyperpaced world, our personal meditation time is too often pushed to the back burner. A friend of mine avoids this with a one-minute meditation.
Set your smart phone, iPod, tablet, or laptop to alarm hourly, and select a gentle, pleasing sound for the alarm (my friend perfers a harp's soft chord). When the alarm sounds, pause, close your eyes, and engage in one minute of mindful, meditative calm as you slip into "other space."
Breathe slowly and evenly, emptying your mind and relaxing as your cares drift away. Finish with end words like "Blessed be" or "I am restored" to close the session, allowing you to reenter "normal space." You'll experience a sense of calm, proving the effectiveness of these mini meditations.
