Spell: Wish Upon the Dog Star

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

As the last days of summer draw the heat and sap of the season to the surface, the Dog Star hangs in the sky. One of the brightest stars of the night sky, our ancestors saw Sirius as a sign of the hunt and of bringing in the harvest. To honor the Dog Star, find a quiet place for clear stargazing and call out to the light of this neighboring solar system. Its two suns (one equal in size to our own Sun and blue, the other twice as large as our own and white) unite as one from our earthly vantage. With arms extended, voice your presence to Sirius; encompass images and symbols of the things that you are harvesting for the fall and allow the light of the Dog Star to filter through you; feel it preparing you for winter and the changes to come!
