Color of the day: Brown
Incense of the day: Jasmine This day is very close to both Hopi and Zuni Ancestor Days. It is a good time to make an offering. Bring fresh fruit and vegetables of the season, a white candle, and matches to the closest body of fresh water. Those without a body of water can still pay tribute using a freshwater fountain. Set out fruit that is special to your family or heritage. Clear a space down to the dirt to place the candle, and light it. Begin your prayer of thanks: I know that you were here in my beginning and that you will be here in the end. Blessed be. Thank you for always being with me, for influencing, shaping, and making me whole. Blessed be. I lay these fruits out for you to partake in our elixirs of life. Blessed be. I am yours you are mine-in body, mind, and spirit. Blessed be. Bow your head. Listen to the ancestor's response. When you are ready, extinguish the candle and take it with you. Leave the fruit out as an offering to the ancestors. |
