When a good friend is moving away, use this ritual to send him or her off with a blessing and to assure an occasional return visit. Start by inviting the guest of honor and his or her closest acquaintances. With the guest in the middle of a circle, invite each attendee to share a story about the subject with the group. Have the subject and a circle elder each braid three stalks of wheat together. Tie the two ends with a green ribbon to form a circle or wreath. Have the subject and the elder exchange wreaths upon completion. In this way the energy in the circle is given to each person, and each are left with part of the other. |
