Color of the day: Topaz Incense of the day: Bay laurel It's Fire Prevention Day. Let's face it—most magical folks love setting things on fire! But nothing ruins a spell or ritual faster than a fire hazard. Here are some handy tips to be aware of when burning things and a little blessing to keep things safe:
- While candles that have lots of herbs, crystals, and other interesting bits in them look cool, they can be a serious fire hazard. These are best burned in larger cauldrons, away from any flammable materials.
- Those little charcoal tablets get surprisingly hot! Nestle them in a bed of sand or salt in a fireproof container and then place everything on a tile or trivet for added security.
- When burning anything in your cauldron, keep a lid handy. If your cauldron didn't come with a lid, find a plate or other suitable cover that can be used to snuff out the flame in case of an emergency.
