Leaf Punch Craft

Color of the day:  Red
Incense of the day:  Ylang-Ylang

Hearth charms like punched leaves can help us bring warmth and joy into the home as we learn dot matrix art and balancing magick this season. Punching shapes is the first step in learning other crafts like embroidery. Looking at the holes we punch, we let the light in through all those seemingly unrelated imperfections. The bigger picture always reveals a theme, and crafting with leaves is fun when we employ Pagan, planetary, and zodiac images.

All you need is a few freshly fallen leaves and an embroidery needle. Poke holes in oak and maple leaves in patterns that are meaningful to you and reflective of your hopes and goals. You can keep the leaves between the pages of a book or two sheets of glass for later use, although the best use of punched leaves is to weave them into seasonal decor or craft them into paper lanterns and eventually burn them during Samhain season
