POSTED UNDER Friends, Rain

To Life!

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Clary sage

In Fiddler on the Roof, Tevye sings, “L’chaim!” which means, “To life!” The circumstances of his life aren’t good—he’s a Jew living in anti-Semitic Russia around the turn of the last century—but he manages to find little things to celebrate. Let us emulate Tevye. What little things in your life can you celebrate?

Alone or with your coven or circle, set up an altar filled with growing plants and symbols of happiness, such as musical instruments, a glass of milk, favorite jewelry, or emails from friends. Add whatever brings more life into your life.

Surround your “lifey” things with a whole rainbow of birthday candles. As you light each candle, tell yourself and your friends what’s good in your life. What kind of life does this April bring? Ask your friends to speak about their lives. Sit together with your altar and think about renewed and ever-renewing life until the candles burn down safely. Then you and your friends can get up and dance.
