Gifts for the Faeries

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Bayberry

No one really knows what faeries are, other than that they almost certainly aren’t the cute little winged creatures you see in a Disney movie. Most Witches believe that they are a form of elemental. Just because most of us never see one doesn’t mean they aren’t there. The fae, or fair folk, as they are sometimes called, should always be treated with respect and just a bit of caution. It never hurts to try to make friends with them. The summer, when flowers are blooming, is the perfect time to do this.

Find a spot in your yard or a park or field that looks like it might be a place that faeries would like, and bring them a gift. It is said that they like flowers, honey, mead, milk, and shiny things. Set down whatever gift you have brought, back away a few paces, and say:

A gift for the faeries, lovely and wise.
May it bring me favor in your eyes.
