Supper for the Dead

Color of the day:  Black
Incense of the day:  Basil

Winds blow, trees creak. Leaves rustle, children giggle. Lighted pumpkins decorate doorsteps and you swear you can hear whispers in the night. It is the time of Samhain and Halloween. Honor the thinning veil and those long past by setting a place for your dearly departed loved ones.

You will need:
* A black tablecloth
* Marigolds
* A vase filled with water
* A place setting
* A skull candle
* Mementos of your loved ones

Cover your table space with the black tablecloth. Place the marigolds in the vase and set on the table. Lay out the place setting. Place the skull candle above the place setting. Add your mementos.

On Samhain night, light the skull candle. Take a moment to be with your loved ones across the veil. Say:

"Your presence is welcome here.
If you choose, please draw near.
Out of sight but never gone,
We welcome you here all night long."
