LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Apple Spell for Wisdom

Color of the day:  Orange
Incense of the day:  Almond

This is the height of apple harvest season. If you don't live in an area with orchards where you can pick them, pick some up at a farm stand or grocery store. Get seven apples, one for each day of the week, and place them on your altar. Each morning, before breakfast, take one apple and cut through it in the middle, sideways, so that each half is round, the top and the bottom of the apple. In the middle of each half you will see a pentacle shape made by the seeds: the apple's magic lies within but is also throughout, given its sweetness, fragrance, beauty, and folklore. Look at the halved apple for a few minutes, meditating on the meaning of the pentacle(the elements, wholeness, integration). Then eat the apple, savoring its flavor and visualizing its wisdom and health-giving properties. Do this each day for a week.
