LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Discovering Your place in Your Local Community

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Hyssop

Sometimes when we're new to a community or spiritual path, we're uncertain of where we stand within that community. Take a piece of cardstock and draw lines dividing it into several sections in a puzzle pattern. In each section, write a different community-service action you might be interested in doing or see a need for in your community (for example, doing divinatory readings, teaching a workshop, etc.). Leave a few of the sections blank, in case your gods want you to rest, heal, or serve them somewhere else-in those cases, it's best to build your skills and energy before moving on.
With the puzzle before you, close your eyes and hold your left hand, palm down, over the puzzle. Take your time and move your hand over the entire puzzle slowly. Whenever you feel a warmth or tingling, take a marker and quickly make a mark on that piece. Try not to get focused on the places you've marked, but just keep sweeping your hand until you've gone over the whole area.
Once you've gone over the whole puzzle, open your eyes and see which service activities your subconscious chose. Meditate on how you can get started on these actions, and choose one or two to start, adding more as your energy and your confidence in your community grow.
