Blessing the Children

Today is my daughter's birthday, and while I bless and celebrate her, it's the perfect day to celebrate all children. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, neighbor, or friend of a child, and even if you don't have your own children, let's remember that it takes a village to raise a child, and that children everywhere need our blessings. Celebrate and bless the world's children with safety, security, nurturance, affirmation, and the ability to value themselves. Children need strong bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits, and powerful magic.
Chant:

Like the earth, enduring and strong,
Let children's bodies be healthy, live long.
Like the fire's warming light,
Let children's minds be swift and bright.
Like the waters, healing and pure,
Let children's emotions and self-esteem be clear and sure.
Like the air and wind that uplifts and inspires,
Let children's spirits be vibrant with desire.
Blessed be the children.
