Weeding Your Garden

Color of the day:  Black
Incense of the day:  Ginger

We've just passed the summer solstice, which according to the astronomers is the beginning of summer but to those of us who really know is Midsummer, the high point (and hinge) of the season. Although the weather is likely to get hotter, we're on the downhill side of summer and the solstice energy is waning. This is a good time for cleaning and clearing.
Whether you have a real (outdoor) garden or a large or small collection of potted plants, visit your garden today and clean it up. Find the uninvited guests-weeds or bugs-and uproot them and send them far away. As you're working, also consider your internal garden. What's growing in your mind? In your heart? Find the weeds inside you and pull them up by the roots. Find the infestations and banish them. Complete this work by stating an intention to bloom with kindness and intelligence.
