Color of the day: Red Incense of the day: Cinnamon I personally advocate freedom from all forms of addiction. That having been said, it should be known that tobacco can and should be used in a sacred manner; this is especially pertinent for those living in the Americas whose ancestors utilized the tabacco plant's sacred medicine for both physical and metaphysical uses. As a small tribute to the ancestors and the elements (and only if you are eighteen or older, of course), acquire an all-natural, organic cigarette, or pipe tobacco. When lit, draw the smoke into your mouth without inhaling. When the smoke is in your mouth, turn in a clockwise direction to the north, east, south, and west, blowing a puff of smoke to the elements. Do the same to the ground beneath you and the sky above you.
Next, blow puffs of pure tobacco smoke to the spirits of the land around you, to the ancestors, and to any deities you wish to give thanks to. Finish by leaving offerings of tobacco in the area around you. |
