Autumn is a time of change. The lazy pace of summer quickens into harvest. The still air begins to stir with brisk winds that bring the autumn rains. The colors brighten from placid greens to fiery reds and yellows, then fade to brown. As the seasons change, so do our lives. The pace quickens or slows. Old things that no longer serve us must be released so that we can take up new tools and challenges in the future. Think of four things you want to release-bad habits, bothersome memories, broken relationships, anything that holds you back. Write each one on an autumn leaf and toss them into the wind to be carried away. Walk among the fallen leaves, without looking back, and chant:
Gold and brown
Gold and brown
Wind blows up and
Leaves fall down
Let go of hindrances as the trees let go of dead leaves.
