Even if you are not a New Yorker, the deaths of nearly 3,000 people on 9/11 have an impact. September 11 is a day for families and friends to mourn the loss of their loved ones, to remember the tragic events of the day. September 10 is a day to celebrate the joys and good things the lost ones brought to so many lives. Newspapers and Web sites may print biographies of the dead. Collect them and read them out loud. Light candles, lay a place at a Dumb Supper similar to Samhain, and raise a glass to toast the LIVES of those who are now gone. Tomorrow is about the loss; today is about the enduring good these people brought to so many lives. |
