No more than two small shot glasses should be drunk per evening. It is also an excellent offering to Pagan gods and goddesses. To make your own, take five unripe peaches, one pint of rice or white wine, and one-and-a-half ounces of refined sugar. Quarter the peaches, and put all the ingredients into a large sterilized jar. Seal the jar and store it in a cool, dry, and dark area for nine months. Afterward, strain and pour the wine into a dry sterilized bottle. The bottle may be stored in the refrigerator. For extra zing during festivals, add a dash of the wine to ice cream, trifles, and other deserts. In place of peaches, Chinese red dates or persimmons may be used. |
