Beltane is traditionally a fire festival. Many times we offer gifts to the fire of things we want to banish from our lives, but have you ever thought about thanking the fire for taking all of that baggage from you? The principle is the same. Write down what you appreciate about the fire, or make it an offering of gratitude to burn. Cast your circle (if you use one), light your ritual fire, and let the gratitude commence.
Once when we did this ritual, we fed sparklers to the fire. Great fun was had by all. And in subsequent fire rituals, every now and again a sparkler that hadn't burned during the first ritual would catch fire and blaze- a reminder that the element of fire does indeed have a memory. |
